Knocked-Out Tooth

For adult teeth that have been knocked out, these teeth should be replaced as soon as possible, and a knocked out adult tooth is a dental emergency that should always be met with immediate emergency dental care. When a tooth is knocked out, gently rinse off the tooth without touching the roots, place the tooth in its socket facing the correct way, and make your way to our office as soon as you can. If you cannot place the tooth back in its socket immediately, place the tooth in a container of cold milk and make your way to our office for emergency care.

Foreign objects in the teeth can cause bleeding as well as infections that can be avoided through emergency dental care. If and when a foreign object is caught in between the teeth, use a toothpick to gently work out the object. Traditional dental floss also can help you remove objects lodged in the gums effectively.
